About the AVDP

The Agriculture Value Chain Development Project (AVDP) is a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and market access for key crops such as rice, palm oil, cocoa, and vegetables. By focusing on mechanization, irrigation, and infrastructure development, AVDP supports the Government’s goals of achieving rice self-sufficiency, promoting crop diversification, and reducing rural poverty. The project is dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers, with a special emphasis on women and youth, to ensure sustainable agricultural growth and improved livelihoods for over 34,000 vulnerable households.
